Campervan Project

To travel more freely across South America, we bought a small campervan and spent nearly six months exploring the continent in it. It was our first experience of van life, and the feeling of living on the road had a lasting impact on us. Although your bed stays in the same place, every time you look out the window you wake up to a different landscape. Before long, everywhere begins to feel like home. Your connection with nature changes and grows stronger.

This experience also influenced the way we create. Constantly being on the move keeps your mind open. Every day brings the possibility of a new adventure. Stepping outside your comfort zone can be challenging at first, but over time it encourages a more observant, adaptable, and curious way of seeing the world.

Our journey came to an unexpected end due to a series of unfortunate events, followed by the outbreak of the pandemic. Even so, the idea of traveling in a campervan stayed with us. We decided to design and build our own van from scratch.

To plan the interior, I created my very first 3D model in SketchUp. At the time, it was simply a way to visualize the layout, but without realizing it, this small project became my introduction to the world of 3D design. Looking back, it was the starting point of the digital environments I create today using Unity and Blender.

Although the pandemic prevented us from taking the long journeys we had imagined, the design and conversion process gave us valuable skills and experiences. Looking back, this project represents not only the transformation of a vehicle, but also the beginning of the creative journey that eventually led me to designing interactive digital experiences.
